SYSTRA was involved in experiments involving the safety of autonomous vehicles with SystemX and NTU University in Singapore.

Launched in 2018, the ASV project – Automated Driving Simulation & Validation – carried out jointly with the SystemX Institute for Technological Research, NTU (Nanyang Technological University) in Singapore, SNCF, Renault and OKTAL (via its AVSimulation subsidiary), seeks to develop a digital simulation platform which will help to test and validate the safe operation of autonomous vehicles.

The objectives of the project, which is part of the work carried out by CETRAN (Centre of Excellence for Testing & Research of AVS), include helping to develop standards for the certification of autonomous vehicles and to create and validate methodologies and platform models for simulations involving autonomous vehicles under different weather conditions.

SYSTRA’s main tasks are:

  • Overall monitoring of the project and attending the monthly technical committee;
  • Arbitration on strategic decisions and ensuring that the research project benefits from synergies with CETRAN projects;
  • Contributing its expertise and global knowledge of transport systems.

This pioneering project lies at the heart of current concerns held by the authorities regarding the safety of these new modes of transport.
