The event marked a milestone moment for the scheme and celebrated the achievements of its inaugural cohort.
Through the Transpennine Route Upgrade (TRU) East Alliance, SYSTRA in the UK & Ireland is a proud founding member of the PlanBEE Rail scheme, which is designed to recruit and nurture the next generation of multi-disciplinary project managers.
The two-year programme supports the apprentices as they rotate around four different employers, gaining experience across different environments.
The event brought together apprentices, their friends and family, and representatives from sponsor organisations for a celebratory evening, including certificate presentations, alongside a poster showcase.
It has been a real honour for SYSTRA to be part of the PlanBEE Rail apprenticeship scheme and to support the development of such a talented first cohort.

The graduation serves as a proud demonstration of our collaborative commitment to developing the next generation of rail professionals across the industry.
SYSTRA welcomed apprentices Joe Thompson, Rachael Ngoka, Amelia Edwards and Elliot Morrison during the programme. On the back of the placements, we’re delighted to say Elliot has been offered a permanent job with us as project coordinator.
