Marc Stedman
Head of Water Discipline for SYSTRA UK & Ireland
Marc has been working with the Environment Agency and Risk Management Authorities either as a supplier or directly for over 20 years and has a deep understanding of the challenges that are abundant in flood risk management and delivering resilience. Marc is an accomplished engineer in his field and applies his expertise in placemaking and environmental engineering along with project management and an extensive understanding of nature-based solutions.
As we continue to grow and diversify SYSTRA Water to help the Environment Agency deliver its targets under the next spending period, Marc hopes to bring his experience to help the Environment Agency achieve its goals of providing better protection for the public against flooding in coalition with Biodiversity Net Gain with a resilience to resource availability and a fresh approach.
One of the current projects Marc is excited about delivering is helping Yorkshire Water delivery on its targets of improving Combined Sewer Overflow (CSO’s) spills by delivering a number of CSO and SUD’s projects.

Matthew Jack
Senior Design Manager
Matthew Jack is Senior Design Manager at SYSTRA where he leads the Specialist Services Team. A Chartered Water Manager and Chartered Environmentalist by background Matthew has experience across a number of sectors delivering Water and Environment solutions for clients in Water, Rail, Highways, Property Management and Digital. Matthew is a former Trustee and Honorary Junior President of CIWEM.

Jennifer Aston
Discipline Lead (Landcape)
Jennifer is a Chartered Landscape Architect and has 20 years experience in major infrastructure projects, including road and rail. She’s served as Lead Landscape Architect, Environmental Coordinator and Client-Side Subject Matter Expert, with expertise in Landscape and Visual Impact Assessment, and environmental mitigation design. She’s also contributed to high-profile public realm projects like London Bridge, Crossrail, and HS2 Phase 1. Currently Jennifer leads SYSTRA’s Nature Positive team, managing landscape architects and ecologists.

Mike Muldoon
Business Development Director
Mike is proud to be representing SYSTRA Water sector in support of this CIWEM Flood and Coast Conference.
Mike’s focus is always on how to connect with clients, understanding their challenges and ensuring that all that we do is centred on meeting their needs and solving their problems. Mike is SYSTRA’s UK & Ireland Business Development Director, he reports to the CEO and is a member of the Executive Board with responsibility for strategic development of the business and sales. Mike has over 30 years’ experience, in roles ranging from designer to project manager/director, commercial director and strategy/business development.
As SYSTRA grows in this crucial market addressing the impacts of climate change on flood and coastal erosion risk management (FCERM), we believe that our end-to-end project experience in infrastructure delivery, and our complex project experience, combined with the wealth of talent in our technical disciplines allow us to bring new insights and capability to bear, a resilience to resource availability and a fresh approach.

Jenny Jefferies
Discipline Lead for Planning and Consents
Jenny is the Discipline Lead for Planning and Consents at SYSTRA, working in the rail and infrastructure sector for over 15 years. She has led the delivery of planning and environmental consents for key projects, including HS2 at Old Oak Common. In 2024, she was recognised as one of The Planner Magazine’s Women of Influence for her leadership in the industry and commitment to sustainability and diversity.
