Shaping the infrastructure of tomorrow. Join the team making it happen.
Great engineering doesn’t happen without great people. At SYSTRA, we’re always looking for talented individuals who bring fresh thinking, genuine ambition and the drive to deliver excellence — not just as a standard, but as a mindset.
When you apply for a role at SYSTRA, every application we receive is reviewed thoroughly and fairly by our recruitment team and hiring managers within your chosen discipline.
Your career journey
Whether you’re taking your first step through our apprenticeship or graduate programme, or you’re an experienced professional looking ready for your next challenge, we welcome your application and value everyone who entrusts their future career to us.
From day one you’ll be part of a connected team – one that shares ideas, celebrates different perspectives and works together to achieve more. We’ll champion your growth, be open and transparent with you, and make sure you’re in an environment where you can speak up, push boundaries and reach your potential. We hope this is the beginning of something exciting – for you and for us.
Treating every applicant fairly
We’re committed to providing equal opportunities for everyone who wants to build a career at SYSTRA. We’ve invested in making our recruitment process fair and equitable — a process every candidate feels welcomed, valued and set up to succeed.
If there are any personal or financial adjustments that would help remove barriers during your application or interview, please reach out to us at [email protected] Your needs will always be treated with dignity and respect.
Our recruitment process – what to expect
We want to be as clear as possible about what you can expect from us when you apply for a position. We’ll tell you exactly where you are in the process, give you feedback where we can, and keep you fully in the loop at every stage. Here’s an outline of each phase, so you know what to expect.
1. Application and initial selection
As soon as your CV lands with us, our recruitment team will review it promptly and fairly. If your application looks like a strong match, we’ll arrange an introductory call to talk through the role and what you’re looking for. Your CV will then be shared with the relevant hiring manager.
For our graduate and apprenticeship programmes, the process differs slightly. Graduate applications open in October/November and apprenticeships in February/March – keep an eye on our vacancies page so you don’t miss your window. Successful candidates at this stage will be invited to complete a short online video interview to help us get to know you better.
2. The Interview
Interviews are with hiring managers from your future team and can take place in person or online – whichever works best. Depending on the role, there may be one or two stages, and some positions include a short written or technical task.
As well as exploring your skills and technical expertise, we’ll explore how you approach your work – the behaviours that reflect our values of Excellence, Connected Teams and Bold Leadership. We’re not just looking for the right skills; we’re looking for people who share our commitment to delivering with pride, embracing new thinking and empowering others to do their best work. Your recruitment contact will brief and support you thoroughly beforehand, so you can walk in feeling prepared and confident.
3. Outcome and feedback
We’ll get back to you as soon as possible after your interview. If the role isn’t the right fit this time, a member of our recruitment team will be happy to provide constructive feedback to help you with future applications.
And if you’re successful? Congratulations! We’ll be in touch straight away to walk you through the next steps.
4. Your offer
We’ll always call you first to share the great news and make a verbal offer. This is followed by a formal offer letter and contract for you to review and sign.
We’re here to support you
If you need adjustments or financial assistance at any point in the process, email [email protected]. Your request will be handled confidentially and with respect. We also pledge to offer an interview to any candidate with a disability who applies and meets the minimum criteria for the role.
Our recruitment team are on hand at every stage. Reach them at [email protected] for any questions, big or small.
We are always looking to expand our team, so don’t be put off if you don’t tick every single box, we’d still love to hear from you — you could be exactly who we’re looking for.
We’re always looking to improve. If you have any feedback on your experience with us, please share it at [email protected].
