MEXICO: Opening of Line B second section of the Mexico metro on November 30 |

On November 30th, 2000, the Mexico Metro launched, with SYSTRA's assistance, the second section of Line B, which includes 13.5 km serving 8 stations. With a total length of 23.5 km including 21 stations, this line will carry 300 000 passengers daily.
SYSTRA has participated in the design and works supervision of all phases of the Mexico transit network on a continuous basis since its beginning en 1967. It has been providing its assistance to the Mexican engineers for the civil works of the Line B second section.
SYSTRA, in charge of the Line B general coordination, also performed to the DGCOSTC the following assignments:
- electric power supply (traction, high-tension sub-stations)
- signalling
- automation (SACEM)
- centralized train control
- quality control of equipment imported from Europe.
