Context

The Engineering Design Interface Lead will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining engineering design guides and best practices to ensure consistency, efficiency, and high-quality engineering outputs. This role requires a technically proficient individual with a strong background in engineering design and a passion for establishing and upholding design standards.

 

Missions/Main Duties

Your role within the team:

  • Develop, document, and maintain comprehensive engineering design guides and best practices.
  • Ensure design consistency and quality across all engineering projects and platforms.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams, project managers, and other stakeholders to integrate design standards into the engineering process.
  • Lead cross-functional teams to implement design guides and best practices.
  • Conduct regular reviews and audits of existing designs to ensure adherence to established guidelines.
  • Provide guidance and support to engineering teams on the application of design standards.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and emerging best practices in engineering design.
  • Lead workshops and training sessions to educate teams on design guidelines and best practices.
  • Collect and analyze feedback to continuously improve design standards.

Profile/Skills

  • Approximately 15 years’ experience in a design interface role on Railway, Metro, Tramway or major LRT or similar systems related project(s) of similar size, complexity and contractual value;
  • Experience in alliance or similar collaborative contracts;
  • Relevant educational qualifications in design; and
  • holding a recognized professional designation or license such as P. Eng. or similar is preferred.
