Following a first contract at the end of 2020, SYSTRA won two new contracts to design the entire Cycle Express Network of Toulouse and its surrounding area, in south west France.

SYSTRA is the representative of a consortium of engineering consultants working for Tisséo Collectivités, the authority responsible for organising transport in the greater Toulouse area. The latter has awarded us two preliminary design lots for the Cycle Express Network during a period of 4 years, in order to design the development of nearly 300km of the express bicycle network, and 50km of level 2 development.

The objective is to envisage how to redevelop public spaces, crossroads, infrastructures, and superstructures, by promoting safe and peaceful mobility, so that cycling is a credible and sustainable alternative to everyday travel.

With this double success, SYSTRA has confirmed its commitment to the design of the Toulouse cycle network. This is our most ambitious contract to date, won in a buoyant market and for an urban area committed to the development of soft modes.

Alongside our partner Copenhagenize France and our subcontractor Iter, we will mobilise a team of more than 30 experts in mobility, civil engineering, and urban development to respond to all the components of this project.

These two additional contracts follow an initial one obtained from the Haute Garonne Departmental Council. Taken together, these three contracts make SYSTRA the key engineering contractor for the Cycle Express Network project in the Toulouse area. This also confirms our strong momentum in these active mobilities, which illustrate the diversification of our activities.
