“I would not be an Architect at SYSTRA today if…”

If I hadn’t pursued my passion for architecture! Furthermore, I would not have become a rail professional if I had not had the opportunity to join SYSTRA in 2007 on a metro project in Dubai. In addition, thanks to the advice and encouragement of the mentors I have met throughout my career, I have also progressed  professionally. I thank them for that.

“What motivates me on a daily basis at SYSTRA is…”

As a woman, a mother, and a professional, watching women grow up, succeed and become role models for their families or their professional communities is very motivating! This is what I see at SYSTRA and it is my greatest motivation.

“I realised how meaningful my job was when…”

I realised how important my job was when I saw others around me using public transport: being transported, connected, and educated! For example, when my children take the metro, it’s an opportunity for them to learn new things: they plan the journey, find the destination, observe and explore this new place, and ask a whole lot of questions (going up a viaduct for example or going down a tunnel). It’s a great feeling to be able to participate in connecting spaces and people!

“My message to those considering this job”

Don’t hesitate to go into architecture! It’s a fun, challenging, and rewarding profession where you work across disciplines. It develops our problem-solving skills and stimulates our creativity!
