Trafikverket, Sweden's transport administration, renews its confidence in SYSTRA with another rail project in the centre of the country.

SYSTRA has been chosen by longstanding client Trafikverket, Sweden’s transport administration, to change a 5km railway section from single to double tracks between Avesta Krylbo station and Dalsland in central Sweden. We will also carry out the detailed design for a railway yard in Krylbo, a bridge, and several service roads to access railway equipment.

The station Avesta Krylbo is a crosspoint for two lines and the purpose of the project is to increase capacity. Our scope of work involves one of the lines and includes several new crosspoints, a new signalling system and interlocking at the Avesta Krylbo station to increase capacity.

A reference for future bids

The project involves a broad range of disciplines including Systems, Civil design, Access roads, Bridges, Environment, and Noise reduction. The project started in February 2024, the contract stipulates delivery of the detailed design in October 2025 and the end of the mission in 2029.

This latest assignment is fully in line with SYSTRA’s strategy in Sweden and an important reference which enhances our visibility in the country, and which will be useful in winning more bids in the future.
