Our SYSTRA Denmark teams are preparing a design proposal for a new cycle and pedestrian bridge over the railway station in Albertslund, a city undergoing several major development and transformation projects in which sustainability and safety are playing a major role.

SYSTRA proposes safe and sustainable mobility

Discussions about the possibility of a new path connection over or under the railway line began in 2018. Ten proposed solutions were reviewed and a combined cycle and pedestrian bridge over the railway at the train station was considered the best solution.

SYSTRA Denmark at the service of safe and sustainable mobility

The project is based on the mobility plan drawn up by SYSTRA in 2021, in which we indicated that, in the absence of dedicated facilities for crossing the tracks, local residents were likely to prefer the car to the train or bicycle for their journeys, which would have negative consequences for both traffic flow and CO₂emissions.

We are proud to be supporting the creation of this cycle and pedestrian bridge, which will contribute to the urban development of Albertslund as a safe and cohesive city, where cycling and public transport are the preferred means of mobility for the city’s citizens.
