SYSTRA Canada is part of the SYSTRA group, an international consulting and engineering group, a world leader in the design of transport infrastructures. SYSTRA Canada is an engineering and consulting firm whose primary focus is to offer transportation solutions, whether for passengers or goods: feasibility studies of building a new railway line, increasing the capacity of the existing infrastructure, privatization of a railway.

Context

The Multidisciplinary Technical Coordinator is responsible for coordinating the technical development and interface management of a defined segment of the LRT project across multiple civil and infrastructure disciplines. The role ensures that the design and technical deliverables for roadworks, utilities, landscape, electrical, and drainage are fully coordinated with the track and systems scope, supporting an integrated and buildable project outcome.

The position acts as a central technical focal point for cross-disciplinary coordination within the segment, helping to identify interface risks, resolve design conflicts, and maintain alignment between discipline teams, project requirements, and delivery milestones. The role also supports proactive coordination with the BIM Coordinator for model integration, clash detection, and the resolution of geometric and spatial conflicts.

Missions/Main Duties

  • Coordinate technical development across road, utilities, landscape, electrical, and drainage disciplines within the assigned LRT segment.
  • Manage interfaces between civil infrastructure works and track and systems design.
  • Review multidisciplinary design deliverables for consistency, completeness, and interface compatibility.
  • Identify technical conflicts, design overlaps, and coordination gaps, and support their timely resolution.
  • Work closely with the BIM Coordinator to facilitate model-based coordination and clash detection activities.
  • Participate in federated model reviews and help assess the technical significance of identified clashes.
  • Ensure discipline teams address clash reports and interface comments within agreed timelines.
  • Support the integration of design updates into coordinated models and technical documentation.
  • Facilitate coordination meetings and maintain interface action trackers, decision logs, and issue registers.
  • Monitor technical risks related to constructability, sequencing, access, clearance, utilities protection, and systems interfaces.
  • Liaise with design managers, discipline leads, BIM teams, and project stakeholders to maintain alignment on technical matters.
  • Contribute to the preparation of coordination notes, technical reports, and internal presentations as required.
