Challenge
ETCS Level 2 involves continuous supervision of train movement with continuous communication, which is provided by GSM-R, between both the train and trackside.
Lineside signals are optional in this case and train detection is performed by the trackside equipment out of the scope of ERTMS.
SYSTRA was responsible for the development of business requirement specifications, development of solution for business case (SRS) and concept design and supported the industry engagement and technology benchmark.
SYSTRA developed a deployment strategy for the roll out of the network and supported the cost and benefit modelling and operational integration planning.
