SYSTRA is proud to be partnering with Indra to deliver advanced operational technologies for Brisbane Metro — a new high-capacity, high-frequency battery electric transport system that will shape the future of mobility in Brisbane.
Brisbane City Council has awarded Indra the contract to implement its cloud-based Operational Support System (OSS) and on-board technology for the city’s new electric metro fleet. Together, Indra and SYSTRA will deliver a robust and scalable solution that provides real-time operational awareness, enhances decision-making, and improves the experience for both drivers and passengers.
SYSTRA is supporting Indra in several critical areas of this work, including the development of the training plan for metro operators. This involves identifying user needs, defining the required training materials, and designing course content and delivery methods. In addition, SYSTRA is contributing to the design and testing of the human-machine interface — ensuring it meets high standards of usability, accessibility, and operational performance.
The OSS platform integrates data from the metro fleet, charging infrastructure, busway systems, and scheduling tools to enable a more connected and responsive public transport service. The system facilitates real-time communication with drivers and control centres, monitors vehicle system performance, and enables dynamic service adjustments to manage disruptions.
This project demonstrates our ongoing commitment to helping cities deliver safe, smart, and sustainable transport solutions.
