At the end of 2023, SYSTRA took the lead in a PMC (Project Management Consultancy) consortium with Egis to build the Blue and Red lines of this new EET (Electric Express Train) network, following on from our contribution to the very first High Speed Line (Green Line) in Egypt, a contract won in November 2021.
A CENTRAL ROLE FOR SYSTRA
SYSTRA is supervising construction as Employer’s Representative on behalf of the National Authority for Tunnels, our longstanding client. Within the consortium, SYSTRA is responsible for integrating, supervising, coordinating, monitoring and facilitating the execution of the project with the support of our long-established local partners Arab Consulting Engineers (ACE) and SHAKER Consultancy Group. SYSTRA will act as Project Management Assistant for the delivery of the Blue Line and the Red Line, which together cover 1,325km of line and 39 stations.

CONNECTING THE COUNTRY
On delivery, the EET will carry passengers and freight on 2,000km of lines divided into three inter-connecting lines linking all the country’s governorates. The project will form a complete network by connecting airports, seaports, dry ports and logistics hubs.
TOWARDS MORE SUSTAINABLE TRANSPORT
The EET network will be a reliable, safe and sustainable mode of transport for Egyptians, visitors and freight operators throughout the country. It will create thousands of jobs, support economic growth and improve the daily lives of the local population.
