THE SÃO PAULO METRO: A SUSTAINABLE MOBILITY SOLUTION

The first metro in South America, inaugurated in 1974, the São Paulo metro is also the first network to have selected monorail as its mode of transport, in 2014. Since the 1990s, the city has been developing a plan based on improving urban mobility, of which the development of the metro network is one of the key elements.

The extension of Line 15 will make a major contribution to offering a fast, high-quality service to users. The metro will also help to reduce the number of vehicles on the roads, thereby contributing to environmental protection and improving the quality of life of inhabitants.
