Lausanne Light Rail Transit – Line 2
SYSTRA was appointed to assist the contracting authority with the construction of Line M2 of the LRT network in Lausanne, Switzerland.
The Lausanne light rail transit network comprises two lines, M1 and M2.
M2 was designed to make use of the former Lausanne-Ouchy rack and pinion line inaugurated in 1877 and operated until 2006.
M2 is the first fully automated rubber-tyred metro in Switzerland.
SYSTRA was responsible for the following principal assignments:
- Drafting regulations;
- Supervising the manufacture of rolling stock
- Drawing up the operating schedule and procedures (system and rolling stock);
- Supervising the manufacture of platform screen doors.
