Jakarta Railway Network
SYSTRA won the contract to renovate and modernise three lines: Serpong, Tangerang and Western.
The Serpong line is part of the western Jabotabek corridor, a major suburban line flanked by five large housing estates.
The Tangerang line links DKI Jakarta city centre to the city of Tangerang to the West.
After conducting an initial feasibility study on the reorganisation of the network’s lines between 1982 – 1983, SYSTRA was responsible for:
- Design engineering for the renovation and modernisation of three of the network’s lines (Western, Serpong and Tangerang);
- Basic designs for the central control centre for the entire Jabotabek network (1987-1988);
For the work carried out on the Serpong Line (1988-1995) and then on the Tangerang line (1995-1999), SYSTRA was responsible for:
- Supervising the manufacture of track equipment and components, electrification, signalling, telecommunications and operation assistance systems;
- Training, testing & commissioning.
