In Denmark, the electrification of the rail network is continuing with SYSTRA. Since 2013, the Group has been assisting Banedanmark, the country’s rail infrastructure manager, with this gigantic programme involving 1,300km of lines to be equipped, with the very first electrified section inaugurated in 2017.
A WIDE RANGE OF BENEFITS
The aim of this electrification programme is to prepare for the replacement of rolling stock with electric trains. These are part of an overall approach to Denmark’s transition to electromobility, to the benefit of the environment. Advantages are also expected in terms of operating safety, efficiency and network reliability.
