As part of the change of operation of the Dubai Metro, SYSTRA was commissioned to carry out an analysis of all the operating assets.
The Dubai Metro is owned by the Road & Transport Authority of Dubai (RTA). After several years of operation and maintenance of the Dubai Metro by SERCO, the KM consortium (Keolis and Mitsubishi) was appointed and took over the operation of the Dubai Metro and Al Sufooh tramway in September 2021. The KM consortium is to carry out an initial asset condition study.
The main objective of the project is to establish the condition of the metro’s assets as a baseline for the start of the operation and maintenance concession by KM.
The first stage of the project was centred around the analysis of existing information, a check of the asset documentation, scheduling of visits, and scoring procedure. In a second phase, site visits provided an overview of the assets of the operation. The visual appearance and functional performance of all assets allow an assessment of the current ability of the Dubai Metro to meet the requirements of the transport system while respecting the operational availability and safety objectives.
