SYSTRA has obtained international ISO 37001 certification for its anti-bribery management system in France and India. This is the first time that an engineering group has joined the limited circle of companies certified for anti-corruption in France.

On 22nd October, the EUROCOMPLIANCE certification body announced to SYSTRA’s management that it had obtained ISO 37001 certification following an audit of its anti-bribery management system carried out in France and India. The ISO 37001 standard, published in 2016, “sets out requirements and provides guidance for a management system designed to help an organization to prevent, detect and respond to bribery and comply with anti-bribery laws and voluntary commitments applicable to its activities.”

“ISO 37001 is an excellent way to ensure that our management systems evolve towards full compliance with the legal standards that have developed in many countries since the 1997 OECD convention: FCPA in the USA, Bribery Act in the UK and Loi Sapin 2 in France, with the creation of the French Anti-Corruption Agency. We are pleased to have reached this milestone following several months of work to deploy an effective anti-corruption system throughout the Group.”

Jérôme Hernot, Group Compliance Officer

” As a company with a strong presence on international markets and working on behalf of public organizations, SYSTRA is particularly concerned by the fight against corruption which, it should be remembered, represents an annual misappropriation of public funds of 5% of world GDP according to the World Economic Forum. Beyond this commitment to the common good, we have a duty to act as a trusted third party. Indeed, confidence is an essential element in the relationship between an engineering company like SYSTRA and its clients on the one hand, and other stakeholders in projects in which we are involved, on the other . This involves guaranteeing compliance with the highest ethical standards. This trust is also essential for our staff, who refuse to accept the practices of the old world, and we can testify that an assumed and asserted integrity is fully compatible with the development of our activities and the quality of our services. I am proud to see SYSTRA’s teams and managers commit themselves with such conviction to this path.”

Pierre Verzat, SYSTRA’s Chief Executive Officer
