Line 15 is South America’s first mass-transit monorail and one of the four lines that constitute the São Paulo Metro, São Paulo’s state metro company and one of the thirteen lines of the Mass Transit network of the São Paulo metropolitan area. This assignment is one of the most significant won by our teams in Brazil in 2022.

This new contract reinforces SYSTRA’s reputation in Brazil’s passenger rail sector. Our teams are proud to be playing a significant role in the development of the São Paulo Metro and I look forward to winning more work on this line and other networks across the country.
Marc-Olivier Maillefaud, CEO of SYSTRA Brazil
The work involves the existing station of Ipiranga on Line 10 with which Line 15 will connect the future stations of Boa Esperança and Jacu-Pêssego, and the parking yard Ragueb Chohfi. Construction is scheduled to begin in March 2023.

The São Paulo Metro: a sustainable transport solution
São Paulo has been developing a plan focused on improving urban mobility since the 1990s and the expanded metro network is one of its notable successes.
This latest project for Line 15 will contribute further to providing a high-quality service while reducing journey times. Furthermore, the metro system helps to ease road congestion, thereby contributing to the environment.
