SYSTRA has been advising Banedanmark, the Danish rail network owner, on the electrification of more than 1,300km of line since 2013.

The first stage of the project is now complete and Banedanmark recently inaugurated the first 55km of the electrified route.

SYSTRA is proud to be part of this project, which aims, among other things, to double transport capacity, reduce journey times due to increased speed, and reduce emissions by switching from diesel to electric trains.

The programme includes the installation of a catenary system and infrastructure to power the network. It will also require civil engineering work, including the modification or reconstruction of existing structures to adapt them to the catenary system.

As part of a consortium, SYSTRA is providing multidisciplinary advisory and expert services for all stages of the project. We have been involved in this project since definition of the tender strategy and we will work with Banedanmark until construction is completed satisfactorily in accordance with the contract.
