Nicolas
Project Director,
BELGIQUE
WHAT IS YOUR JOB?
I’m a project manager, currently in charge of our PMC contract to modernise and extend the Brussels metro network. The aim is to support our client on a variety of engineering and project management issues: migration, integration, interfaces, testing, planning, configuration, quantity surveying, etc. I’m also working as a systems manager within the client’s organisation, for the extension of metro line 3, which is now entering the construction tender phase. I’m advising our client on the preparation of this call for tenders, covering a wide range of technical and organisational issues.
WHAT DO YOU LIKE MOST IN WHAT YOU DO?
As a Project Director, I appreciate making easy agreement with the Client on the invoicing plan, this is generally an indicator that the Client is happy with what is delivered.
As a Consultant, I like being able to anticipate difficulties that the Client is going to face in the middle term, then propose relevant solutions based on experience, and finally help the project to make a choice.
As an Engineer, I (of course!) enjoy facing technical challenges.
And as a Trainspotter, I love being part of a transportation project, with a power to directly influence what will be the result for the community in terms of operational efficiency, functions, and performance.
WHY SYSTRA?
I have chosen SYSTRA in 2013 for mainly 3 reasons. 1/ I wanted to enlarge my vision of railway projects to any technical domain and any project phase, 2/ with opportunities almost anywhere in the world, and 3/ getting the possibility to easy access to the best technical knowledge and experience in Metro and High Speed Rail. For the same 3 reasons I’m still at SYSTRA today!
