In 2023, SYSTRA won the contract to design a Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) line which will be essential in the Paris region.
TRANSFORMING THE WESTERN SUBURBS OF PARIS
The ‘Bus entre Seine’ line will run between Yvelines and Val d’Oise in the Paris region by the end of 2028. This BRT line, some of which will use dedicated bus lanes, will provide a reliable, punctual, and efficient service between these two districts. The future line will connect with some of the region’s major lines, and more than 60,000 passengers could use it every day, saving up to 15 minutes on their journeys during rush hour.
DEDICATED LANES
The BRT line will feature upgraded stations, dedicated lanes, priority at traffic lights and junction improvements to ease traffic flow. Local bus routes will be able to access the upgraded sections, while local residents will benefit from wider pavements with trees. Land acquisition and traffic studies will be required prior to the works.
FOCUS ON SOFT MODES
The project will be accompanied by a front-to-back upgrading of the roads and the creation of lanes for active modes of transport: walking and cycling. SYSTRA is a member of the project management consortium led by Iris Conseil Ingénierie (lead), alongside the urban planning agency Ateliers Villes & Paysages Paris.
