Context

The Senior Data Analyst – Cost Control will be based at Systra’s Ahmedabad/ Faridabad office, providing dedicated support to Systra UK on major infrastructure programmes. Operating within the framework of project controls, the role focuses on linking programme and cost data, developing advanced Power BI dashboards, and producing detailed forecasts at WBS level. With strong analytical skills and experience in cost control for large, complex engineering projects, the analyst will collaborate closely with project controls, commercial, and construction teams to ensure accurate reporting, risk alignment, and financial transparency. This position requires proficiency in Excel and Power BI, knowledge of NEC contracts, and the ability to synthesize complex data into actionable insights—supporting excellence in project delivery across the lifecycle.

Missions/Main Duties

  • Support cost engineers with detailed analysis of activity schedules, linking programme and cost data.
  • Implement tools to simplify monthly analysis and reporting.
  • Develop and maintain Power BI dashboards to consolidate reports and highlight trends.
  • Produce detailed forecasts at WBS level and reconcile cost vs programme forecasts.
  • Analyse actual costs from supply chain, identify anomalies, and summarise findings.
  • Track and update risk registers, ensuring alignment with programme and budget.
  • Provide high-level data management and synthesis for commercial and project teams.

Profile/Skills

  • Strong understanding of project controls (programme, cost, budget, risk, change).
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and Power BI.
  • Experience in cost control within large, complex construction/engineering projects.
  • Knowledge of NEC contracts and tender/contract documentation.
  • Strong analytical and synthesis capacity.
