Context
We are looking for a CAD/GIS Designer to support the delivery of geospatial data, maps, and analyses for transport, traffic, and mobility projects. This role focuses on hands-on data preparation, spatial analysis, map production, and simple automation under the guidance of senior engineers and planners. You will contribute to day-to-day operations, reporting, and decision support for planning and control center teams.
Missions/Main Duties
In this role, you will assist in maintaining spatial datasets, preparing maps and web layers, running predefined analyses, and documenting workflows. Working closely with senior GIS staff, traffic engineers, and operations teams, you will help ensure data accuracy, consistency, and timely delivery of outputs in a fast-paced environment.
GIS Production and Data Maintenance
Assist with data collection, cleaning, and updates to enterprise geodatabases. Prepare standardized map products, web maps, and layers following established cartographic standards and templates. Apply QA/QC checklists and version control procedures.
Spatial Analysis and Reporting
Run routine spatial and network analyses using established models for routing, coverage, stop spacing, and camera placement. Compile results into clear map outputs, summary tables, and dashboards for internal and executive use. Escalate issues and anomalies to senior team members.
Tools, Automation, and Publishing
Use ArcGIS Pro and ModelBuilder to execute workflows; contribute to basic Python (ArcPy) scripts for repetitive tasks when guided. Support publishing layers and services to ArcGIS Enterprise/Portal and configure simple web maps/apps for end users.
Data Integration and Coordination
Support spatial SQL queries and data exchange with centralized databases. Follow SDI-aligned practices and work with IT to ensure data consistency across systems. Assist in integrating GIS layers with adjacent transport systems and asset registers as directed.
Collaboration and Support
Work within multidisciplinary teams (IT, planning, operations), gather requirements, document changes, and provide user support. Respond to ad hoc requests, prioritize tasks, and communicate progress clearly to senior staff and stakeholders.
