Context

This person will oversee and be responsible for engineering deliverables, ensuring the best outcomes for all the required Engineering outputs. This role requires extensive multidisciplinary expertise in the rail industry, encompassing all technical aspects from project initiation through design and integration. 

Missions/Main Duties

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Develop and maintain the design interface management strategy (including the Interface Management Plan) and interface register;
  • coordinate identification, definition and ownership of interfaces across civil, systems, utilities and third parties;
  • Enabling Works Interface Lead Align early works contractor activities with Package 1 WGs, permits, and schedule risk.
  • Manage hand-offs, constraints, and readiness for main works.
  • facilitate interface workshops and technical working groups;
  • track interface issues and actions to closure;
  • provide regular reporting on critical interfaces and associated risks to Systems Engineering Manager and project leadership.
  • Lead management of technical interfaces between the project and the Owner, municipalities, agencies and other third parties;
  • coordinate identification and documentation of interface points and requirements;
  • facilitate technical workshops and reviews with external stakeholders;
  • track commitments, actions and risks related to third-party interfaces;

Profile/Skills

Required Technical Competencies

 

  • University degree in Engineering or related discipline;
  • 15+ years’ experience managing technical interfaces on major rail / transit or infrastructure projects;
  • Gold Seal (GSC) Certification
  • strong understanding of stakeholder requirements and approval processes;
  • excellent communication and relationship-management skills.        
  • Professional Engineering Certificate.
