SYSTRA Vision equips Principal Contractor License holders with the ability to meticulously visualise and plan every aspect of their project.
From planning to execution, SYSTRA Vision significantly reduces risks, enhances safety, and ensures seamless project delivery by providing clients with a clear, visual representation, ensuring that each aspect is risk-managed with precision.
It enables and fosters a proactive safety culture, engaging across the project team and utilising innovative solutions such as Safe by BIM, 4D virtual rehearsals, informing preconstruction planning and briefings, including pre-shift toolbox talks.

Cost & Programme Efficiency
We integrate existing project data with a timeline to create a unique model that simulates you project progress over time.
Possession and Engineering work overruns result in significant financial cost and reputational damage. SYSTRA Vision minimises these risks through improved planning and communication. Leveraging digital rehearsals, that enhance stakeholder engagement from the early design phase through construction and improve understanding and control of project risks.
Our expert team collaborate closely to ensure every detail of a project – however large or complex – is captured and risks are highlighted.
This is enhanced further with 4D enabled construction monitoring progress, providing accurate planned vs actual progress and cost reporting, and driving supply chain performance.
Sustainability & Carbon Reduction
SYSTRA Vision goes beyond traditional methods to address sustainability head-on. By integrating carbon modelling and lifecycle assessment. It empowers teams to make environmentally conscious decisions, providing real-time option comparison, reducing waste and carbon emissions through optimised design, material, and construction methods.
SYSTRA Vision also supports construction staging and management, considering plant availability, and eliminating waste via rehearsing construction sequencing, vehicle movements and activities.

Transformative Impact
SYSTRA Vision transforms static project plans into dynamic virtual simulations, allowing all stakeholders to visualise the entire railway infrastructure from start to finish.
This real-time insight helps anticipate potential issues, mitigate risks before they arise, and streamline project execution. The result? Increased safety, enhanced efficiency, and a faster, and greener delivery.
whY CHOOSE systra vision?
By adopting SYSTRA Vision, you will redefine construction success – delivering projects Faster, Safer, and Greener.

SYSTRA Vision brings together SYSTRA Expert Railway project design and construction knowledge, with our bespoke digital solutions to revolutionise railway project delivery. It enhances collaboration, ensures proactive risk management, and promotes best practices at every stage of the project.

The importance of 4D virtual rehearsal
Traditional planning methods do not emphasise the complexities of railway infrastructure projects. SYSTRA Vision virtual rehearsal offers a powerful advantage—by simulating every step of your project, you can identify potential problems, streamline workflows, and ensure that safety measures are fully integrated from day one.
Visualise the Future, Safeguard the present
SYSTRA Vision visualisation service transforms your project plans into a dynamic virtual rehearsal, allowing you to anticipate and mitigate potential hazards before they occur. This foresight leads to increased levels of assurance, better safety outcomes, and ultimately, a more efficient, successful project.

4D Virtual Rehearsals
CFM5 4D Bridge Reconstruction
This video showcases the CFM5 4D Bridge Reconstruction on the Transpennine Route Upgrade, a critical infrastructure upgrade utilising 4D BIM modelling and digital twin technology for real-time construction management. The construction process highlights essential elements like risk assessment, behavioural safety protocols, and site safety through 4D project planning.
With a combination of digital and physical planning tools, the reconstruction effort ensures safe site navigation through defined hazard zones, task-specific guidance, and physical barriers. This approach illustrates how 4D simulation and virtual reality in construction contribute to construction sequencing and safe work culture, providing a robust framework for both efficiency and worker protection.
HUL4/32 Osmondthorpe Bridge reconstruction
The above video depicts the HUL4/32 Osmondthorpe Bridge reconstruction within the Transpennine Route Upgrade, benefiting from SYSTRA’s innovative approach to 4D BIM construction planning. Highlighting construction phasing from detailed planning and risk identification to rigorous safety protocols and clash detection, the project leverages both digital and physical planning tools.
Clearly marked hazard zones and physical barriers ensure a safety-driven site environment, while 4D sequencing and 4D digital engineering support safe navigation and site coordination. This 4D construction simulation reinforces SYSTRA’s commitment to efficiency and worker safety as core principles in this extensive rail engineering upgrade.
HUL4/47 Kirkgate Bridge Reconstruction
This video captures the meticulous bridge jacking assessment for the HUL4/47 Kirkgate Bridge reconstruction, part of the Transpennine Route Upgrade. 4D modelling is pivotal in depicting the removal of the existing bridge and installation of the new structure, represented through 4D visualisation in construction.
The behavioural safety measures and clearly defined hazard zones underscore the importance of site safety and risk management. Real-time data overlays with predictive safety features ensure seamless navigation and decision-making at each phase, illustrating how 4D construction sequencing can enhance operational precision and safety in complex bridge installations.
HUL4/40 Marsh Lane Bridge Jacking Proposal
In this video, the HUL4/40 Marsh Lane Bridge jacking proposal—a major aspect of the Transpennine Route Upgrade—is outlined through 4D construction scheduling and digital twin capabilities provided by SYSTRA. It highlights proposed installation stages, featuring 4D BIM modelling for risk evaluation, 4D sequencing, and the precise placement of jacking equipment.
Real-time data integration supports on-site operations with a focus on 4D safety management, construction process optimisation, and virtual rehearsal for construction logistics. SYSTRA’s advanced vision in 4D BIM for construction safety planning exemplifies how 4D digital engineering contributes to both coordination and worker protection.
Neville Hill 12-week Blockade
The Neville Hill 12-week blockade video illustrates a coordinated approach to rail safety and 4D construction planning for track renewals in the Transpennine Route Upgrade. Detailed 4D construction scheduling and task sequencing, alongside virtual reality rehearsals, guide the complex processes involved.
BIM-based 4D scheduling ensures accurate project timelines and prevents costly overruns, emphasising a strong commitment to safe work culture and behavioural safety in rail engineering. This phase highlights the importance of 4D BIM in project rehearsal and time-lapse visualisation to meet the demanding project schedule while minimising operational risks and ensuring efficiency
ECML Power Supply Upgrade
The The 4D Visualisation and Innovation team made a significant contribution to the ECML Power Supply Upgrade project by delivering a comprehensive 4D construction sequence to support the installation of a new track section cabin at Chester-Le-Street. This project spans the whole of the East Coast Main Line and is nearing completion on revitalising and re-energising the route’s infrastructure to provide capacity for increased traffic going into the future.
From a safety standpoint, one of the Project’s ongoing aspirations is to improve the planning of its works, therefore, subject to the client’s rigorous requirements, this animation was precisely aligned with the project’s programme, simulating plant movements and on-site construction activities. The client found this visualisation highly valuable, using it in site inductions and a “Predict and Prevent” safety session..
