There has never been a more important time for us to act collectively from making the transition to a low-carbon future to building sustainable societies and preserving the natural environment.
ACHIEVING NET ZERO CARBON
Approximately 19% of Ireland’s carbon emissions currently come from transport – and emissions from transport have increased in recent years. Ireland has ambitious emission-reduction targets for the transport sector, with a 50% reduction from transport to be achieved by 2030 – as laid out in the Climate Action Plan 2023.
Reducing transport emissions to achieve net zero carbon is a rising priority for local, city, regional and national authorities in Ireland, on the path to achieving a 51% cross-sector reduction in carbon emissions by 2030 and net zero by 2050. SYSTRA can assist in achieving these aims.
