Context

Traffic Engineer for Road and Urban Traffic and Transportation

Missions/Main Duties

Main tasks and responsibilities, which are not limited to:

  • Knowledge and active monitoring of laws and by-laws, i.e., regulations, rules and standards governing the field of road traffic;
  • Particular knowledge and active monitoring of laws and by-laws, i.e. regulations, rules and standards related to ensuring the safety of road work zones, i.e. designing and implementing temporary traffic signalling and traffic marking equipment for road work zones in respect of the metro construction;
  • Acquaintance and review of contractual documents relevant for timely and adequate ensuring of safety of road work zones, with special attention to the Project Terms of Reference, applied technical standards and regulations, consents and permits;
  • Controlling and approving technical documentation and reviewing consents and permits related to the metro construction prepared or obtained by the Contractor in the part related to the road traffic organization and technology, with special attention to traffic safety;
  • Controlling and approving technical documentation and reviewing consents and permits related to the metro construction prepared or obtained by the Contractor and checking compliance with laws and by-laws, as well as rules, standards, regulations, manuals and norms governing the field of road traffic;
  • Review of the performed works through direct on-site control and carrying out expert supervision over the application of technical regulations, norms and quality standards, as well as through on-site inspection whether all items have been carried out in an adequate manner, i.e. in accordance with the designs, permits and consents provided by the technical documentation, with special attention to traffic safety;
  • Active monitoring of the road work zones condition in relation to the metro construction, monitoring whether the works dynamics on-site correspond to the plans and whether omissions or deviations from technical documentation, consents and permits occur in actual conditions on-site, as well as performing traffic safety monitoring;
  • Keeping records of established non-conformities, providing suggestions, proposals or remedial measures for eliminating defects, for the purpose of complying with technical documentation and creating conditions for safe traffic in the road work zone;
  • Ensuring compliance with all relevant laws, regulations and standards related to temporary traffic signals and traffic marking equipment for road work zones, with an emphasis on creating conditions for safe traffic flow;
  • At the stage of drafting technical documentation, the employee may provide guidelines for designing traffic signals and traffic equipment for the part of technical documentation related to the road traffic organization and technology in connection with the metro construction;
  • Establishing and maintaining professional cooperation with other team members, as well as with business partners and competent institutions, in order to implement the project efficiently and effectively;
  • Attending meetings aimed at ensuring smooth and timely Project implementation;
  • Reporting to senior management, as needed and upon request;

Profile/Skills

  • University degree in a relevant discipline
  • Serbian Speaker
  • Good knowledge of the English language
  • Minimum 5 years of specific professional experience with the Serbian License No. 370 for design review and Licence No. 470 for supervision related to Road Trafffic Engineering
