Context

The Alignment Engineer reviews project tender track alignment and look for optimizations. 

Missions/Main Duties

Review project tender track alignment and look for optimizations;
• Produce track alignment models on AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or other available software;
• Review Structure gauge and track clearance all along the project;
• Produce, together with a team of draftsmen, alignment drawings in all design stages, all along the project life;
• Participate to technical meetings with Client’s representative on all issues related to track alignment;
• Prepare or oversee the preparation of final plans and reports and submits them for approval;
• May provide quality control reviews for other track alignment segments within the project corridor;
• Coordinate work with other engineers, professionals and the builder, within and outside own discipline, and with support services staff; and
• May assist Team Lead and the Track Engineer in duties related to trackwork design, interface coordination.

Profile/Skills

Educational:

•Accredited Degree in Civil Engineering;
•and at least five (5) years of related experience in the design of infrastructures, preferably with experience in railway.

 

Skills and Experience:

•Proficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D/ Microstation/GEoPak/BIM/QGIS
•Excellent command of MS Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint)
•Fluent in both spoken and written English (speaking and writing) is required to be able to work in an international environment;
•Self-driven, dynamic having strong analytical skills and attention to details; and
•Having strong sense of initiative and ability to plan and prioritize workload to meet deadlines.

•5 years relevant experience in alignment design.

•Railway alignment design experience is an advantage.
