Context
The Rolling Stock Manager will be responsible for the technical integrity of the rolling stock by managing Rolling Stock D&B Contracts and providing technical guidance on rolling stock design, development, manufacturing, interfaces and safety. Reporting to the Project Director, the Rolling Stock Manager will perform design reviews, facilitate the resolution of any failed construction or design issues, ensure the contractual compliance and ensure the smooth operation with other systems and civil infrastructure.
Missions/Main Duties
- Responsible for the Supervision of the Design, fabrication, supplying, installation, testing and commissioning of the EET Rolling Stocks and its components.
- Manage and oversee the railway's rolling stock, including locomotives, passenger cars, and freight wagons, to ensure optimal performance and availability.
- Manage relationships with rolling stock suppliers to ensure timely delivery.
- Monitor delivery milestones and adherence to budgets, and initiate actions to minimize non-conformance costs.
- Manage and monitor testing & commissioning activities with the involved stakeholders including verification/validation/testing strategy and train certification.
- Provide technical expertise and support with regards to rolling stock to the wider project team
- Define and develop interface specifications to support the supplier design.
- Liaise with the project controls team to determine schedules and monitor project progress.
- Establish and maintain adherence to project deliverables with respect to safety, quality, budget and schedule.
- Analyze the rolling stock related RAMS performance against the client’s design specifications.
- Ensure that the rolling stock’s related operation and maintenance requirements are met.
- Review and approve the Design Build contractor’s rolling stock system and sub-system designs to ensure compliance with the client’s requirements, including site witnessing.
- Review and monitor the rolling stock design specifications and standards for all subsystems such as HVAC, door control, propulsion and control, auxiliary power, wiring, car body, brakes, couplers, gangway, bogies, etc.
- Coordinate and monitor the rolling stock related interfaces and integration with other disciplines.
- Ensure all reporting requirements, are met and maintain accurate records concerning rolling stock related data.
- Manage all Testing & Commissioning activities related to the Rolling stock.
- Manage the Rolling Stock team – 4 Team Members.
Profile/Skills
- With not less than Fifteen (15) years’ experience in Railway Projects with minimum of Ten (10) years of Design and construction experience in Rail Projects.
- The Discipline Lead, Manager or Expert shall have held the same position for at least one project of a similar size.
- Experience of working on large, complex and multidisciplinary projects.
- Experience within the mobility sector and with the delivery of new rolling stock.
- Significant technical experience relevant to the design delivery of rolling stock.
- Strong understanding of railway approvals, practices and standards including UIC- 615, UIC-515, IEC 61133 and NFPA 130, EN12663, EN15827.
- Management skills and ability to manage a team with multicultural background.
- Fluency in both written and spoken English.
