The Role

We are seeking an Experienced / Senior Engineer to join our team and contribute to the delivery of rail infrastructure projects across passenger rail, heavy haul, inland rail, and intermodal sectors. This role will focus on drainage, stormwater, and associated rail corridor infrastructure, and will suit an engineer with strong technical capability, sound design experience, and the ability to deliver practical, compliant, and coordinated engineering outcomes within multidisciplinary project environments.

Missions/Main Duties

• Deliver drainage and stormwater design for rail infrastructure projects across a range of sectors.
• Develop practical, compliant, and buildable engineering solutions for rail corridor drainage and associated infrastructure.
• Prepare and review design documentation, calculations, reports, and technical deliverables.
• Contribute to passenger rail, heavy haul, inland rail, and intermodal project delivery.
• Undertake drainage investigations, assessments, and design development across project stages.
• Coordinate drainage design interfaces with rail infrastructure and associated civil works, including earthworks and corridor grading.
• Work closely with multidisciplinary teams to achieve integrated project outcomes.
• Identify technical risks, resolve design issues, and support efficient delivery of project milestones.
• Ensure designs are developed in accordance with client, project, and industry standards and requirements.
• Support planning, programme coordination, and technical input to project delivery.
• Provide guidance to less experienced team members where appropriate.

Profile/Skills

About You

You are an Experienced / Senior Engineer with demonstrated capability in drainage and stormwater design and a strong interest in rail infrastructure projects. You bring solid technical experience, sound engineering judgement, and the ability to work effectively across multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality project outcomes.

• Experience in an Engineer or Senior Engineer role within civil or rail infrastructure projects.
• Strong experience in drainage and stormwater design, ideally within rail corridor environments.
• Exposure to passenger rail, heavy haul, inland rail, and/or intermodal projects.
• Understanding of rail corridor infrastructure and associated interfaces with earthworks, grading, and civil works.
• Ability to develop practical, compliant, and coordinated engineering solutions.
• Experience preparing and reviewing design calculations, reports, and technical deliverables.
• Strong understanding of relevant drainage, civil, rail, and client standards and requirements.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong problem-solving skills, technical judgement, and attention to detail.
• Well-developed communication skills and the ability to contribute positively to project delivery.
