The Fookes Meeting for Engineering Geology (FMEG) is held every two years by the Geological Society – the 2025 event is being held on November 20-21. The two-day hybrid event will be held in person, but will also be available remotely to involve an international audience as well as those who can’t get to London in person.

The meeting programme has been designed to appeal to undergraduate and postgraduate students, academic researchers and those working in applied practice, with the aim to foster stronger networks and new collaborations between the Engineering Geology community and allied professions and sectors, with a particular focus on supporting early-career members of the community. The event combines two keynote speakers, panel discussions with invited guests, networking sessions with industry professionals, poster presentations, and a student competition alongside the main scientific programme that will have speakers from across applied practice, academia, and government.

On November 20 during Session Two, our Geotechnical Senior Engineer, Jordan Sinnott, will lead a presentation at 14:00: ‘How do you recover from no recovery? Overcoming challenges posed by incomplete exploratory hole logs.’
