In partnership with Landor LINKS, our very own Emma Jolly (Associate) will be chairing a webinar on how planners can help deliver healthy and active environments.

Prioritising health in transport and planning policies is a win-win for everyone, so why is it so difficult to manage, communicate and deliver?

This webinar will look at the new powers and guidance that can help transport, spatial and urban planners to deliver more healthy and active environments.

The English Devolution and Community Empowerment Bill, currently passing through Parliament, promises to give increased powers to their directly elected leaders and mayors so they can unlock housing, transport and jobs in their regions.

At the same time, the revised National Planning Policy Framework now states that: “Transport issues should be considered from the earliest stages of plan-making and development proposals, using a vision-led approach to identify transport solutions that deliver well-designed, sustainable and popular places.”

Speakers:

  • Peter Jones – Professor of Transport and Sustainable Development, University College London / the Healthy Low-carbon Transport Hub
  • Nicola Lodge – Co-author of ‘Vision led planning – how to plan development and transport infrastructure more sustainably’ / Associate, Integrated Transport Planning
  • Alan Wong – Research Fellow, Transportation Research Group at the University of Southampton
  • Roger Geffen MBE – Joint Co-ordinator, Low Traffic Future
