Transforming infrastructure delivery
- Innovative pathway of continuous improvement to transform infrastructure delivery.
- Achieve positive outcomes for our clients across the asset lifecycle.
SYSTRA has over 20 years of experience in developing modularised construction processes for transport infrastructure projects.
With the transport infrastructure sector facing unprecedented challenges from climate resilience, skills, technology adoption, cost pressures and programme uncertainty, MMC, as described in The Construction Playbook (2022), provides the framework for the construction sector to achieve the three aims of ‘Greener, Faster and Cheaper’ through effective collaboration through the supply network from asset owner clients to specialist product providers.
At SYSTRA, we are applying the principles of MMC to the delivery of assets in the Transport Infrastructure (Conventional Rail, High Speed Rail, Metro and Highways), Water and Energy sectors.
What are modern methods of construction?
MMC (modern methods of construction) is a wide term that encompasses Industrialised construction, Offsite manufacturing, Offsite construction and Design for Manufacture and Assembly (DfMA).
MMC is an approach that creates a collaborative environment enabling the introduction of innovative construction technical solutions to achieve the outcomes of the project across the asset lifecycle.

Our SYSTRA Signature Team provides transport and infrastructure solutions which help to transform connectivity, improve communities, and create places that thrive. Using Modern Methods of construction helps save costs for our clients, supports our commitment to safety and sustainability and enables us to deliver projects more quickly and to high levels of technical assurance.
