Context
The RAM engineer’s main mission is to plan and implement all activities related to the reliability, availability, and maintainability (RAM) of project systems, in order to ensure performance and safety throughout the entire lifecycle.
Missions/Main Duties
- Plan and implement relevant activities related to RAM (Reliability, Availability and Maintainability), including:
- Conducting and documenting RAM analysis as well as supporting safety assessments
- Preparing and following up on RAM analysis
- Developing and monitoring RAM requirements
- Preparing and managing risk registers
- Monitoring RAM performance during the planning, execution, operation, and maintenance phases of the projects
- As part of the project, the RAM engineer will be responsible, among other duties, for:
- Preparing FFMEA, FMEA, and FMECA analyses
- Conducting RAM analyses for each station (TVS, elevator, escalator, drainage, HVAC, BACS, FLS)
- Developing the RAM plan and the RAM validation plan
- Writing RAM analysis reports, subsystem RAM requirements reports, and system RAM status reports
- Establishing the list of reliability-critical items
Profile/Skills
Education: Bachelor’s degree in electrical, mechanical, or another relevant engineering field. Must be a member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ)
Years of experience: 5 to 10 years (or more) of experience in the field of RAM, ideally with project management responsibilities.
Technical competencies :
- Proficiency in reliability analysis methods (FMEA, FMECA, statistical analyses).
- Management of system availability, maintainability, and risks.
- Knowledge of standards and use of specialized tools (e.g., RAM software, EN 50126, ISO 55000).
- Skills in technical writing and analysis of engineering documents.
- Clear verbal and written communication skills, both in French and in English*
