MR90 Series EMU Railcar Technical Specification

Preparation of technical specification for the overhaul and upgrading of MR90 series EMU’s. The Agence métropolitaine de transport (AMT) operates a fleet of 58 electric self-propelled MR90 cars put in service in 1995.

The development of the rehabilitation technical specification involved the inspection of the fleet and a cost benefit analysis on contemplated upgrades such as the replacement of the propulsion system for improved reliability and diagnostic capabilities, application of ADA requirements and other accessibility improvements, new public announcement systems, and new or improved door operator and others.

SYSTRA Canada also provided budgetary overhaul cost estimates and recommended schedule.

Deliverables included:
