The Dedicated Freight Corridor Corporation of India Limited (DFCCIL) is under the ownership of Indian Railways, Ministry of Railways, Government of India with the responsibility to undertake planning, development, and mobilization of financial resources and construction, maintenance and operation of the “Dedicated Freight Corridors” (DFC).
Key features of the project
- The project will ease congestion in the existing railway system, reduce travel time for passenger trains, and create additional rail transport and freight capacities.
- The total stretch will comprise a 1,409km electrified double-track line between Dankuni in West Bengal and Khurja in UP, whereas as in our scope of work, where EDFC-1 project comprises of 393 Km long double track between Khurja & Kanpur which is fully commissioned by honorable Prime Minister- Mr. Narendra Modi, EDFC-2 project comprises of approx. 417 Km length from Mughalsarai-New Bhaupur which is partially commissioned to 174 Km & EDFC-3 project comprises of 222Km length from Pilkhani – Khurja in state of Uttar Pradesh.
- These project mainly features Introduction of complete Mechanized laying of Railway Track by using New Track Construction (NTC) machine and 2x25KV Traction system are formalized for freight trains.
