Systems engineering, train control design, systems integration

SYSTRA is responsible for rail systems engineering, train control design, and systems integration plan development for this project to establish a light rail system along Van Nuys Boulevard, one of the Valley’s busiest corridors. The light rail system will enhance mobility and growth for the communities it will serve.

SYSTRA is developing train control specifications, design criteria, contract drawings, and systems integration plans.

The first project segment is a 6.7-mile at-grade alignment with 11 stations and a new maintenance and storage facility and will feature several buildings using solar photovoltaic (PV) power and excess power storage systems.

Service is expected to begin between 2028 and 2030.
