Austin Capital Metro Project Connect

Project Connect will expand bus and rail lines throughout the city, including two new light rail lines, four new MetroRapid lines, and a subway that will enhance the overall quality of life and equitable outcomes for area residents of all incomes and backgrounds. SYSTRA is an integral part of the program manager/owner’s representative team providing specialized oversight and management expertise to develop and implement Project Connect.

Via a ten-year, task-order-based contract, the team is sharing our unique experience and insight to drive innovation, developing designs that are cost-effective and can be implemented relatively quickly.

SYSTRA is leading the transit technology evaluation component of the program and will lead systems integration and systems testing and commissioning in later phases of the project. Our knowledge of electric and autonomous mobility solutions is helping shape project modes, alternatives, and technologies choices during the environmental phase.

SYSTRA is heavily involved in the oversight and support for the systems and vehicle design elements, technologies assessments, traction power and catenary, LRT design criteria, management, LRT vehicle selection and procurement oversight, and management of development of LRV performance-based technical specifications and RFP package.
