Hari Somalraju brings over 30 years of leadership experience in India’s infrastructure and mobility sectors. As Managing Director of SYSTRA Group India since 2013, he has led a period of strong growth. During this time, he expanded the company’s operations and delivered nationally significant projects. Furthermore, he tripled the project portfolio value over the past decade.

Under his leadership, SYSTRA India has delivered more than 500 km of metro rail projects and major highway and critical infrastructure initiatives. This has advanced sustainable urban mobility and set high standards in safety, quality, and digital engineering. His expertise spans the full project lifecycle, from concept and feasibility to design, construction, and operations.

Hari has been instrumental in embedding ESG principles and digital innovation into SYSTRA’s strategy. As a result, he drives initiatives in AI-led design, smart asset management, and green engineering. He is also recognized for building high-performing teams and mentoring future leaders. Additionally, he fosters a culture of learning, inclusivity, and excellence.

Before joining SYSTRA, Hari held senior leadership roles at GVK Power & Infrastructure, Halcrow Group, and EGIS Group. He holds a Master’s in Transportation Engineering and a Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering from the National Institute of Technology, both with distinction. Moreover, he has completed executive education in strategic management and leadership at IIM Bangalore.

A respected industry voice, Hari is a regular keynote speaker and panelist at leading mobility forums. In addition, he continues to play a pivotal role in shaping India’s urban mobility and infrastructure landscape through purpose-driven growth and future-ready leadership.
