SYSTRA India is providing expert Project Management Consultancy (PMC) for the redevelopment of Ahmedabad Station, one of Gujarat’s most significant brownfield infrastructure initiatives. This ambitious project transforms the state’s busiest transit node into a world-class multi-modal hub. In doing so, it seamlessly integrates Indian Railways, Metro Rail, and High-Speed Rail.

Leveraging advanced digital tools like e-PMC, SYSTRA ensures safety, quality, and operational continuity for a station currently handling 120,000 daily passengers. This is all while building for future demand. Beyond transit, the 40-hectare master plan incorporates heritage-inspired architecture and commercial growth. As a result, it sets a new benchmark for sustainable urban infrastructure in India.

Key features of the project

• Brownfield Project: Redevelopment of the existing station site while maintaining daily operations of 160 trains and 120,000 passengers. This poses unique challenges in safety and logistics related to the Redevelopment of Ahmedabad Railway Station.
  
• Station Building: Modernized with world-class facilities, including an expansive concourse, retail spaces, and enhanced passenger amenities. This ensures a superior user experience.
  
• Conservation, Restoration, and Enhancement of Heritage Structures: Preservation and integration of Ahmedabad’s heritage elements, such as the Brick Minar and Jhulta Minar. Moreover, the design draws inspiration from the Modhera Sun Temple and features an open-space Amphitheatre modeled after the Adalaj Stepwell.
  
• Multi-Modal Transit Hub (MMTH): Seamless connectivity across Indian Railways, Metro Rail, and High-Speed Rail. This facilitates efficient intermodal transfers and urban mobility.
  
• Iconic Tower: A G+16 structure designed for multi-level access using various transport modes. It includes elevated roads and pedestrian links to promote hassle-free connectivity.
  
• Construction of Parcel Building Complex: Dedicated facilities for efficient parcel handling and logistics. These are integrated into the overall commercial framework.
