SYSTRA wins another contract for the Kochi metro’s second line in India

Our close collaboration with client Kochi Metro Rail Limited (KMRL) continues. Following the recent award of the detailed studies for the systems on Line 2 (Pink Line) of the Kochi metro, we have been appointed as General Consultants for the same line.

The scope of work includes overall Project Management including evaluation of the proposals submitted by the design consultant and contractors. We also have the responsibility to ensure quality and safety standards in construction works.

The winning SYSTRA and SYSTRA India consortium not only submitted the lowest financial bid for this contract but also obtained the highest technical score, a reflection of our reputation for technical excellence.

The appointment of the General Consultant is considered a significant stage before beginning the construction phase. Civil works on the new line are expected to begin before Onam, a major annual Indian harvest festival starting towards the end of August and celebrated mainly in the state of Kerala, where Kochi is located.
