Jay Bardhan, CEO- Design Services

BIO

As the Chief Executive Officer of Design Services at SYSTRA India, Jay Bardhan is a distinguished engineering leader with 27 years of profound expertise in the global transport and infrastructure sectors. He is a Gold Medalist in Structural Engineering from IIT Roorkee and an alumnus of IIT BHU. Jay combines rigorous academic foundations with nearly three decades of high-impact international experience.

At the helm of SYSTRA’s design consultancy division, Jay orchestrates complex, multi-disciplinary projects across Conventional Rail, High-Speed Rail (HSR), Metro, and Monorail systems. His technical mastery spans the complete infrastructure lifecycle from structural precision and digital engineering to operational execution. Notably, his leadership has been instrumental in delivering world-class engineering solutions. For example, this includes his tenure as Engineering Manager for the Cairo Monorail, the world’s longest monorail project.

Beyond his technical prowess, Jay is a seasoned commercial strategist. He excels in managing multi-million-dollar bids, implementing value engineering, and ensuring the commercial viability of large-scale EPC and Design & Build (D&B) projects. Furthermore, he is a member of prestigious global bodies like PMI (USA) and IET (UK). Jay is committed to fostering a culture of innovation and mentoring the next generation of engineering talent. This fuels India’s economic progress.
