LIRR Mainline Third Track Expansion Project

This LIRR Expansion Project, one of the largest transportation infrastructure projects in North America, involves adding a third track along a 9.8-mile section of the main line corridor. SYSTRA is a member of the project management team and is responsible for construction compliance oversight on this design-build project for major elements. They include signals and communications systems, stations, and parking facilities, as well as infrastructure such as bridge widening and utility relocations.

SYSTRA is primarily responsible for planning construction activities, overseeing and monitoring construction QA/QC compliance by the design-build contractor, cost and schedule controls, force account coordination and start up, commissioning, and acceptance support by end user groups.
