Architectural and structural design

SYSTRA is leading the complete façade replacement project for the New Jersey Department of Transportation’s (NJDOT) headquarters in Ewing. The challenge is to resolve persistent water ingress issues in the 1969 structure. Our solution involves replacing the entire façade with a modern, energy-efficient system prioritizing watertight integrity and enhanced thermal performance. SYSTRA is studying the integration of Building-Integrated Photovoltaics (BIPV) wall panels to generate electricity directly from the building’s exterior. This will substantially reduce energy consumption and deliver a highly sustainable future for the facility.
