Context
We are looking for an experienced Programme Lead/Project Director with experience in leading joint venture or Alliance projects within the Infrastructure and Rail markets, initially to support our business in Canada on secondment for up to 2 years in Toronto.
This role involves leading rail and transit projects, overseeing teams, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality projects while fostering innovation and client satisfaction. The Senior Programme Lead will drive technical excellence, manage operations, and deliver the design and construction.
Missions/Main Duties
- Serve as the primary Project Manager or Team Leader, guiding rail and transit projects to meet client objectives, timelines, and budgets across various procurement models (e.g., Design-Bid-Build (DBB), Alliance, Progressive Design-Build (PDB), Public-Private Partnerships (P3)).
- Mentor, train, and motivate professional staff to build a high-performing rail and transit team, fostering a collaborative environment that encourages innovation, accountability, and effective communication to address complex infrastructure challenges.
- Oversee daily project operations, including task assignments, scheduling, and quality reviews, ensuring deliverables meet established standards and align with the selected procurement model’s requirements.
- Supervise the preparation of technical reports and documentation, ensuring adherence to quality assurance processes and industry standards.
- Support proposal development by defining project methodologies, schedules, and budgets, while actively pursuing new opportunities with provincial, regional, and municipal clients.
- Define program requirements, monitor deliverables for compliance, and collaborate with project engineers and discipline leads to develop budgets, schedules, and action plans.
- Address potential cost overruns, delays, or scope changes by developing and implementing corrective action plans, keeping clients and management informed.
- Stay current on trends, advancements, and regulations in rail and transit engineering to deliver cutting-edge solutions and maintain technical expertise.
- Foster a culture of collaboration by promoting trust, mutual respect, and open communication among project teams, clients, contractors, and stakeholders, ensuring alignment with project goals and procurement model requirements.
Profile/Skills
- Degree qualified within a relevant Engineering discipline
- Chartered Engineer
- Demonstrable experience in Project Leadership
- Experience working on Major Projects within the Infrastructure, Rail or Construction industry
- It is essential that you demonstrate experience working within an Alliance on Rail/Infrastructure Projects
- Deep understanding of rail and infrastructure engineering
