Metro

In Denmark, SYSTRA has been involved in all existing metro lines in the Copenhagen metro. Internationally, SYSTRA has contributed to nearly 1 in 2 metro lines worldwide. We have participated in building systems from the ground up, developing new lines, expansions, optimizations, and fully automating existing infrastructure. Our experts cover all aspects of metro projects, from initial studies and design to operations and maintenance.

Light rail

Light rail offers transportation to travelers within limited urban spaces where cars, buses, cyclists, and pedestrians takes up much space. At SYSTRA, we conduct studies and analyses of light rail as an alternative to buses, cars, or metro systems in urban areas. Our extensive technical expertise in rail transport has been applied to light rail projects worldwide, including in Denmark and Norway.

Modern road networks and urban spaces must meet today’s demands for sustainability, climate adaptation, accessibility, and traffic safety. This forms the basis for our solutions in the development of new infrastructure, renovations, or maintenance of roads and public spaces. Motorways

From large connection bridges spanning fjords, straits, and belts to valley bridges on land, as well as wildlife, pedestrian, and bicycle bridges. SYSTRA has experience in all phases of a bridge project—from initial studies and design to operation and maintenance. We are committed to exploring more sustainable alternatives in bridge construction, which is why we continuously work on life cycle assessment (LCA) calculations and the use of new and more sustainable types of concrete, as well as timber structures as alternatives to concrete and steel.

SYSTRA has been involved in major tunnel projects around the world, such as the Euralpin Lyon-Turin Tunnel, the Ismailia twin-tube road tunnel under the Suez Canal, the renovation of the Mont Blanc Tunnel, and the largest underground railway project in Europe: the Grand Paris Express in the Paris region.

We leverage our specialized knowledge in the design and maintenance of load-bearing structures in various contexts related to both construction and infrastructure. Julie will help strengthen the rail domain at SYSTRA Denmark

Rail is one of SYSTRA Denmark’s core business areas, and we are therefore pleased to welcome a strong and experienced profile to the team. With the appointment of Julie Josefine Feddersen as Head of Department for Permanent Way, we are strengthening our capacity to deliver safe, efficient, and sustainable solutions across complex rail projects—from early phases through to robust implementation.

Julie will help strengthen the rail domain at SYSTRA Denmark

Julie joins SYSTRA with a Master’s degree in Business Administration and Psychology and a proven ability to operate at the intersection of engineering, organization, and decisions with societal impact. She brings solid experience from Banedanmark, where she has served both as a project manager and as the leader of a team of project managers on politically prioritized projects in the early phases.

Beyond project management, Julie has contributed to developing project frameworks and collaboration models with a focus on clear roles, robust decision processes, and a close linkage between disciplines, finances, and risks. This combination of leadership expertise and understanding of technical and organizational interdependencies makes her particularly strong in early, complex phases—precisely where direction and quality are established.

We are delighted to welcome Julie to Rail. Her profile aligns with the leadership and customer-focused direction we are setting for SYSTRA Denmark’s rail business. I very much look forward to our collaboration and to strengthening the Permanent Way department together with Julie.
