DAFAGO – New Forum for The Use of Basic Data and Other Public Data

SYSTRA (formerly Atkins) and three other companies have taken the initiative to establish DAFAGO - a new forum for those involved in the use of basic data and other public data.

In Denmark, we have free and wide access to public data for use in both commercial and non-commercial solutions. But accessing and using data can be complex. Skilled employees can spend unnecessary time on issues that colleagues in other companies have already solved or may know the solution to. DAFAGO has been established as a forum where it is possible to learn from others, share experiences and knowledge and create a breeding ground for cross-collaboration.

The target group is current and future stakeholders in the use of basic data and other public data; private as well as public companies and organizations.

We have come a long way in Denmark in terms of accessing and using public data for the benefit of users, businesses and society. However, we are not quite there yet – we can go further. This is what DAFAGO, together with other good forces, would like to contribute to. We want to spread awareness, share good stories and identify areas where we can do even better.

DAFAGO has four primary goals:

To provide a framework for the technical exchange of experience in working with basic data and other public data.
To provide constructive feedback and collaborate with relevant authorities in a positive spirit about new requests, possible errors and the use of data.
To be a catalyst for innovation, new data and application areas.
To spread the knowledge and possibilities of basic data and other public data to companies that have not yet started or considered working with these.

SYSTRA (formerly Atkins Denmark) and three other private companies have taken the initiative to establish the forum with strong support from several interest organizations, private and public companies:

The forum is voluntary, and participation is free of charge. The forum will hold physical events several times a year with presentations, knowledge sharing and discussions.
